A few minutes later I took a long taste of the end result: a glass of delicious drinking water.” Regarding the taste and purity of the water created through this process Bill Gates says, “The water tasted as good as any I’ve had out of a bottle. And having studied the engineering behind it, I would happily drink it every day. It’s that safe.” The machine actually burns human waste to create water and to produce ash. Besides this, electricity is produced. This machine has the capability of processing waste from 100,000 people and can produce up to 86,000 liters of water and 250 kw of electricity per day. According to Gates, the reason why this kind of initiative has been taken is that, a large number of people around the world do not have access to proper sanitation. The number exceeds two billion actually. Lack of proper drainage system causes the contamination of water. Shockingly, poor sanitation kills 700,000 children around the world every year. So, he has taken this initiative as processing of human waste can provide pure water and also a way to get rid of wastes creating electric energy at the same time. Bill says, “If we can develop safe, affordable ways to get rid of human waste, we can prevent many of those deaths and help more children grow up healthy.” At present Gates is patronizing the project to conduct an experiment on how successfully this project can work. Being successful, Gates will look for other countries. Gates believe that they will find entrepreneurs to come forward for the implementation of this philanthropic project. The initiative taken by Gates is really appreciable. Pure water and electricity will be produced in a way that can help to get rid of wastes as well. Commenting on the project, Gates concluded, “It’s the ultimate example of that old expression: one man’s trash is another man’s treasure”.</div>
